About
The revolutionary design of the Slicky Boys Sharpening System came about one day during the 2024 winter hunting season. A sharp knife will inevitably be fairly dull after skinning and processing a deer. One member, nicknamed "T-Bird" of the Slicky Boys Hunting Camp in Sparta, GA grew weary of using 3 sharp knives to get through a single animal or passing his knives around to others just to get the task done.
He wanted a field-serviceable, quick, easy and effective method to put a razor sharp edge back on a knife. He knew from growing up hunting in Texas that the old crock style sharpening sticks are the single most effective method of accomplishing this task. When he looked online, he was not impressed by the cost and features of the products available. He wanted a device that was cost effective, field-serviceable and had numerous angles for a multitude of blade types, but did not see anything in his mind that fit the bill.
In his free time, he spent many days and nights working on designs in CAD. Through additive manufacturing (3d printing), he realized lots of features could be added that couldn't through traditional manufacturing methods. Hundreds of different polymers were tested on hundreds of different prototypes before settling on the final design.
After testing and extremely positive feedback from numerous hunters, he decided this product needs to be available for others leading to this website.
